Hi! I’m a podiatry student!

Not sure what podiatry is?
Want to learn what a day in the life of a podiatry student looks like?
You’re in the right place. I’m here to discuss all things podiatry while on my journey.
What is podiatry?

Podiatry is a medical specialty focused on the foot, ankle, and lower limb. It involves diagnosing, treating, and preventing a wide range of conditions. These can include common issues like ingrown toenails and plantar fasciitis, as well as more complex problems like foot deformities, sports injuries, and diabetic foot care.

A podiatrist—also called a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM)—is a physician and surgeon. They’re trained to treat these conditions using both surgical and non-surgical methods.

Whether it’s helping someone recover from an injury, correcting a biomechanical issue, or just keeping feet healthy, podiatrists play a key role in keeping people moving safely and comfortably.
